Is there a stock way to view geotagged photos on a map on the S21? If not, whats a good 3rd party app to do so?

There is no stock way, unfortunately. The Gallery app used to show the location on a small map a few OS versions ago, but now the details of an image will only show the location info, not the map preview. If you open them using Google Photos, however, you can see the preview location on a thumbnail map or open said location directly into Google Maps. Note that this only works per image; if you are looking for a way to see all your photos on a map at once (a-la the now-defunct Instagram feature), you might need a 3rd party app for that (and I, unfortunately, do not know of one that does it).

I have had to abandon the stock Samsung gallery app because of this and instead, installed the very useful Simple Gallery – Photo Editor & Video Manager App, from the Google Play Store.

Just open your image in Simple Gallery > Menu (3 dots) > Show on map > from here you can select any of the map apps on your device.

You can view the map on the samsung gallery app. just select a picture that has get tag, scroll down until you see the map, then tap on the map and you will see your pictures on the map. You can scroll and zoom in out on the map to view other places.

It sounds like you want to view all of your photos at once on a map, kind of the way Google Maps displays McDonalds after a search, correct?

I don't know of any app that will do it that way. However if you open Google Photos select an pic or video then swipe up to reveal the image's geo location, then press the mini map image it will take you to a map view where you can kind of get what you're looking for. The first time you do this it will pop-up with something about exploring your photos and blah blah blah. If you choose explore it will show you a map around the image you chose, maybe a mile radius, but on that map will be hot spots, if you have other images from near that location. These hot spots look like the ones in Snapchat if you've ever gone on there to look at the story posts in an area. Click on those hot spots and all of the images, your images, will show in a dialog box below the map. So the images will not stand up on the map like ads in Waze or searches in Google Maps but it is possible to see all of the images in an area. I'll post screen shots from TapaTalk to show you what I mean.

In the first image it's just how to access this feature. The second image I scrolled to protect my privacy and that caused the hot spots to turn black, not really sure why, but in the third image you can see the hot spots and how many images they represent.

Hope this helps.
