I'm getting back into custom roms. I haven't done any since my s2. I just put one on my nexus 7 2012. Granted it's cm11. I wanna do one on my g3 but not seeing a lot of options for them and I see non for at&t. What's the deal. I really miss the clean look of stock. I came from moto x and when lp drops I'd like to get a clean Rom for it for my g3 what's the deal with no support?

Bootloader was just unlocked (worked around) recently. ROM development should follow suit shortly.

Every model, except the T-Mobile variant, had a locked bootloader.... which kind of killed development since the only model that could load anything the D-851.

I has "had" since a group did manage to figure out a method to unlock the bootloader and posted it over on XDA.... so now that people can unlock those bootloaders, you'll see more ROM dev activity. Of course, the next headache is figuring out how to get that camera working. :) It appears that the addition of the laser focus module is giving them fits, and I suspect that the camera will not function without that module working (so they can't just ditch it and go with the contrast detection methods)

Gotcha thanks for the update. I'm not so much worried about right now but more less when lp drops that's what I want an almost stock feel. Is cm the only ones who pretty much give u that?

Most all AOSP and CM custom roms give a stock feel. Most simply add features that don't mar the experience much, if at all. There are outliers like MIUI, but must are pretty straightforward.

Ok I've used miui I think that's the last I used. What's aosp

AOSP is Android... The core open source code that every android phone has at its core. OEMs take the source, provided for free from Google and make modifications... And it becomes Touchwiz, Sense, etc. The Nexus line comes with as stock a version of android that you will find.
