Getting double gmail notifications number in app dot????

I am seeing double notification badge number is showing twice number of new emails. For example, if I have 2 new emails, the badge number on the app shows 4 new emails instead of 2. Using Nova launcher if that makes a difference.

gmail>settings>select acct with labels>manage labels>select each label and uncheck "label notifications", that way the only notification you get is when it hits the inbox, not a double notification for inbox AND the label

Thanks for the tip Mattsg430 but not working. Only the INBOX had the notification option and even when I turn it off and send an email to myself from the pc via hotmail.com, it shows as 2 messages on the notification badge. Oh well, just pretend emails is 1/2 of what badge says. I wonder if the second notification is coming from Nova's Tesla unread badge notification. Will turn it off and see what it does.

Ya, it could be due to your third party launcher. I used to use nova on a Motorola phone and I do recall sync/notification issues with gmail specifically

No, only gmail app set up Wonder if its a glitch w gmail. wonder if it happens if i use samsung email app and enter my gmail account. Will stock app give me notification number?

Yes.If you have both running, you will get an alert from both apps, if they're signed into the same account. I run both because I can only get notifications on my car's infotainment, from the Samsung mail app.

Maybe you are getting my Gmail Notifications as well, because I'm not currently able to receive any!

I'm sure you did this...But double check your app notifications settings, maybe something got toggled off, inadvertently. Also there was an article posted on AC, about apps being put to sleep.
