I am going to Verizon tomorrow for my upgrade and I am going to upgrade to an Eris. Any accessories that you guys recommend I pick up tomorrow along with the phone? Is it worthwhile to get a case and screen protectors? Does the chrome finish on the sides wear easily?
Thanks in advance!

Just don't buy any of the stuff from Verizon. You can get comparable accessories from Best Buy or similar stores. Also, the Eris will work with the standard HTC plug - you don't have to have the funky one you'll see with your Eris. I bought my case (just a leather, Eddie Bauer, holster) and my car mount and car charger from Best Buy. I did get the rubber "glove" for it from Verizon and I think that was a good investment. In most cases, though, for all accessories, you can do better either retail or online than buying thru Verizon. Enjoy it and you're in the right place!

Not really any need to have ones. screen protectors are ok i hate how smudgee they always get the orginal screen is supose to be scratch resitent, but if your hard on phone get one. and for case, i would skip the V store and get an OtterBox case, i have the cummuter case and its not to big but has triple layer protection with screen pretector, rubber silcone skin, and then a hard shell out side for impact. its like 30 buck. well worth it.

In my experience, purchasing another couple mini-b cables and a usb car charger (both cheap on amazon) for those emergency charge sessions, along with a new 1750mAh Seidio battery and a hard Seidio Innocase II, I feel like I'm set and don't need anything else. I think...

I would suggest a screen protector ,case I would also recommend the otterbox, and an extended battery. Should be good to go from there

You might consider going to Best Buy for your Eris as well as accessories. I was going to get mine from the company story, but for some reason went to the Best Buy. I got mine for free with a standard upgrade and contract renewal (no NE2 on this line). Beats the heck out of $80. Use the extra money on accessories.

I got a clear case and a screen protector. You will want to protect your Eris as much as you can. Cause like they say, once the screen gets a bad scratch, you can't use the touch screen as easily. So it all depends on how nice you want your Eris to look.

Did get my Eris yesterday and I am LOVING it so far. I picked up a shell and holster combo from verizon for the phone and it is really nice. It has a piece that clips onto the back of the eris, and then the whole thing can slide, screen in, into a holster. Also the rep that I was working with told me that they are going to release the 2.1 official update on the 26th of march. I know this was probably just a rep running his mouth, but it can make us Eris owners even more hopeful for an official release if that is the truth. I know the new update has just been leaked as well

I traded my blackberry curve for an eris last week. A nice little feature is that the blackberry curve chargers fit the eris so I didn't have to buy another car charger or usb charger, and I now have two AC chargers. If you look at the plug in holes on the eris versus the curve you will see a slight difference. The eris has a little tit on one side. The curve cables still work with the eris but eris cables would not fit a curve. Hope this helps in some way.

take cuation in using different charge cables, if they are OEM bb, or verizon they should work fine, or any usb cables. but is the are china cheap versions, be wise. the voltage going to the phone is not the OEM standerd and can freeze the phone. happened when i tried a cheap charger on my BB strom. just FYI.
