getting my laptop to recognize my phone.

hi i have a samsung gs3. a couple of days ago the phone switch itself off. since then the phone comes on and shows the samsung galaxy logo. but wont boot any further then that screen. i need to connect to my laptop before i take it to get repaired. how can i get my laptop to recognize my phone without having to select anything on the phone.. please help. im going insane x
