I have a samsung galaxy s2 phone on a contract with sprint. I want to upgrade to a galaxy s3 WITHOUT renewing my contract but I don't want to pay the high retail cost at the sprint store. I hear a lot about SIM cards, etc. How can I buy a galaxy s3 without renewing my present plan and without paying through the nose. Is it possible to buy a "prepaid" phone and use my existing SIM card? Thanks

Sprint phones don't have removable SIM cards, so No, that won't work. In general, phones with SIM cards are for GSM carriers (AT&T, T-Mobile), not CDMA carriers (Verizon, Sprint), and the two systems are incompatible.

I'm sure there are tons of used S3s on eBay or the like.
Heck, since you're not on Verizon, just get a Nexus 5 through the Google Play Store and you'll have a much better phone than the S3.
