Getting New Tablet

I currently have a Galaxy Tab A, SM-T510 purchased in 2020.
It is getting very slow and unpredictable. I'm not short on storage.
In searching for a new Samsung tablet, what should I be looking for in a new
tablet, processor, memory...?

Thanks,
James

I moved this from the Android Central News Discussion to the Buyers Guide forum, since it seems more appropriate here.

Are you wedded to Samsung, or would you consider other manufacturers? I've been happy with my Lenovo Tab M9 after getting really frustrated with the Galaxy Tab A7 lite.

Well, that's a 5 year old tablet (2019 model even if you got it in 2020), running an OS that can only get up to Android 11 (don't know if yours is updated that far), on an Exynos 7904 processor that wasn't all that great to begin with.

I suppose it's time for something new if you're noticing a performance hit.

Maybe, maybe not. JamesJoey: What steps have you taken so far to speed up your tablet?
That tablet has either 2 or 3 GB RAM, depending on which version was purchased. That's not much by today's standards. Additionally, the tablet is only capable of running Android 9, which is very much outdated. It was released in 2019, even though the OP bought it in 2020. A 5 year old device is ancient. The only option at this point is for the OP to get a newer device with more robust hardware and software.

Don't the latest version of most apps still work on Android 9?

Wouldn't that depend on how much more speed he needs? Yeah, his old tablet can only be speed up so much. But there are still some tricks we can pull out of our hats. For example: An ad-blocker would free up some memory and CPU.
