My wife and I both have value plans. We're on contract through next year. However, since it is value plan neither of us have any subsidized phones to repay to t-mobile.

Has anyone had any luck getting out of these contracts since there is no financial obligation to T-Mobile? I'm considering switching us to Simple Talk now that they have AT&T LTE as AT&T has better rural coverage.

I tried. And they told me there was no (buyers remorse) with this plan. I had to stick it out until the 2 years was over. not even an upgrade solved it.

My wife and I both got out of our contracts (mine with more than 9 months to go), but we simply switched to their Simple Choice plans (hard to beat $130/mo for unlimited calls/text/data for 4 smartphones). We had to go in to the store to do it (the $100 ETF is waived, but can only be done at one of their stores), and I'm sure the fact that we both had brand-new Nexus 4's and went in for new SIMs clued them in that we would be staying.
