I am supposed to be getting my repaired, bootlooped phone back today, which try as I might with freezing, I couldn't perform a new backup of before it was totally bricked. For those of you who have experienced the joy, what do you need to do after you get it back? I assume I'll check in with Verizon to get the latest software updates, and restore all my apps from the app store, go to Verizon Cloud and restore all my contacts. But what about call logs and text messages? There seems to be no place on the Verizon Cloud to find either, only some older photos (I stopped saving them to the Cloud because of my limited storage plan and I use my SD card), no text messages (used the Textra app) or call logs. Do those get saved by default somewhere, I just can't see them on the website from my computer? I have use the LG Backup, but unfortunately, it looked like my last manual backup was a year ago...I assume there are no automatic ones I don't know about :(.

Does it matter what order in which I restore everything?

Sorry about the phone, but glad you're getting a new one :) It sounds like you already have a good plan and have hit the high spots. I'm afraid, as you said, call logs and text messages are most likely gone. I haven't used the Verizon cloud, can't comment on it. For the last, I would get system updates done first as they may change other basics, then once good there you'll see your apps return, get them settled and then see if you can find your other user data. Good luck :)

The call logs are gone if you did not previously have a backup file of them. Your previous phone bills should detail them if you really want any kind of record.

For the text messages, if you did not create any backup files, easily restoring them will not happen. However, check with your carrier. Some carriers hold copies of the texts for X number of days for things like letting you read them from their website using your computer. If your carrier does something like this, you may be able to get copies of your most recent texts.

For creating backups of the text messages and call logs, I like Carbonite's "sms backup & restore"

For anyone wondering about sending theirs into LG, the phone was my old handset, but repaired, not a new or refurbished phone. Process took a total of 10 days. I shipped it to them using my own UPS Two Day Air, a day turn around, and 4 days to get back to me after they shipped it back on that following Monday. Process was pretty painless, fixed with no questions asked.

I kinda let the phone do all it's updates on it's own, which went fine. Even though I couldn't find them anywhere in Verizon Cloud on the website, I was pleasantly surprised Messenger + and Verizon Cloud had somehow backed up all my texts, so they restored as if I were reinstalling an app. Call history was, as you guys said, History, but it's not a biggie and was the least of my worries.
