getting rid of suggestions when i type in search bar

OK this is really getting on my nerves. I have tried to look up what to do and and have found nothing that helps. The issue is I can't delete a couple of suggestions that pop up when I go to use Google search bar. You know where you have typed something before and searched and when you type it a second time it shows up below the search bar with a little x to the right. I hit that x and it goes away but comes back again the next time or maybe the time after I go to use the search bar again. And its just those two searches that won't delete. I can delete anything else that I have previously searched just not those two. Its not even that I am embarrassed...they were just searches for how to delete chrome auto suggestion or whatever its called...the one that auto suggests old sights. Does anyone have suggestions...I have done all that clear browsing history stuff...it still doesn't go away.

Oh and by the way the search suggestions come up when just when I touch the Google bar...before I ever type. Both suggestions start off with the word "how" but just as soon as I type an h they go away...give me a standard automatic suggestion (with no little x to the right of course).
