sorry if theres a ton of threads on this site, wanted a personal one here, Im going to admit, I don't know what the hell Im doing here, and I need help. Yesterday I got impaient waiting for an OTA official Gingerbread update from verizon, and I found a download link to get .588, I used I guess whats called the stock recovery method to update, rename the file "update.zip", power down the phone, hold power button and home button, use volume rocker to select update.zip, and ta da, I have gingerbread.

Will I cant get rid of the sync icon, I go on here and do some reading, and everyone is saying you should wipe or a factory reset on your phone. I don't know for sure how to do this, and I am assuming its the phone off, power button+home button, and you select wipe or what ever, is this correct?

If I can't get this to work, how in the hell do I sbf, and what in the hell is sbf ' ing? I read and downloaded to the best of my memory, something call RSDlite and its version 4.8 I believe, and a sbf file of .320 and a .340 version of stock froyo.

I would appreciate it so MUCH if someone would be kind and paient enough to help my dumbass out
