Gingerbread and New sense rom?!

I am going to root my Evo after having 6 months. Have read around and rooting seems easy. If you have a flawless way or link to root please provide.

I am only willing to root however because I would like a rom with Gingerbread and the new sense 2.1, is there one available?

you should note that this ROM does NOT have working 4G.

Misfit has a 2.3/Sense ROM based upon the HTC leak that has 4G working.

You really should just browse through all the ROMs that are out there. Make sure to read the OP for each one as they will typically tell you what's working and what's not. Here are a few links to start you off...

Any of the Gingerbread Roms actually have working screen brightness at this point? I liked the Misfit Rom, and would love to try the new Kingdom Rom, but the work arounds and discussions about the brightness keep me from straying from CM7 for now. Plus partitioning the SD card is also too much work. I'm sure it'll all get sorted out, but just looking to see if any have a good brightness function.

The brightness problem was some missing code for one of the screen manufacturers (I don't recall the name). I have GB 2.3.3 with the original Sense and have no problems with brightness, so I obviously don't have that particular screen. I do recall seeing a custom kernel (I think) that addresses this issue, but that leaves you not being able to run any other kernel. One of the XDA threads was discussing this. If I run across it again I'll link it.
