I've successfully installed GB version 2.3.6 (via Mini Kies) and all is going swimmingly. I do, notice, however, that the battery meter/gauge in the status bar does not ever turn red when battery level gets low. It stays green, but just becomes less filled in/solid green in color. Is this something that is just the nature of the beast of GB, or is this somehow a remnant of the 2.3.5 that I had originally stalled from the "yanked" version a month or two ago...?

Thanks!

It's definitely not how Gingerbread is supposed to be. My Galaxy SII stock (GB) has the same battery meter, but it turns yellow and then red as the battery drains. I thought this was just a part of the "unfinished" points on the UCLB3 leak back then, but I guess they never got around to changing it.

Yeah, I didn't think it was right. Stays green all the way to 0% battery life. Like I said, not solid green, the battery icon loses its "filling" but it does remain green. Bummer. Seems like a something they should have caught...
