Gingerbread Battery Usage

First off, this isn't really a problem as such, more an observation.

I'm loving the improved battery app in Gingerbread, but I've noticed some differences in usage on my Nexus S compared to my Nexus One and older HTC Magic.

Previously, on a day with no voice calls, the Display was by far the biggest user of battery on the older phones.

Now, more often than not on the Nexus S, quite often the "Android OS" seems to be the top user of battery. Right now on my phone, Android OS has 38% of usage and Display and "Android System" are even second on 14%.

This could possibly be explained by the Nexus S having a more efficient screen, but it seems a bit odd.

Battery life doesn't seem to be a problem, although it does seem to take longer to charge (an issue seemingly common to other users in the Nexus S forum).

Anyone else noticed similar?
