Yea I did it while @ work earlier and all is well!

Bonus I have lost all the O2 branding and that Facebook app that I didn't want!

Phone seems more responsive and typing is more accurate.

Just down load the file but waiting for more feedback and instructions. A little hestitant to install, I really don't feel like installing my WiFi codes..

As far as install, is it as easy as plugging the phone to the pc and clicking on the file? Will they give additional info? Thanks..

So could we use this RUU as a full wipe and restore of a Desire running one of the custom ROM's?

A fried has now put the gingerbread upgrade on his Desire, all is well in his camp...

Yes, that should work fine. Will make for a nice, clean fallback - there's too many versions of the 2.2 RUUs if you ask me.

Will give this a shot when I get my Desire back from repairs by the end of the week/early next week. Will most likely put InsertCoin 1.0.9 on it later on (having SD-EXT has made me incapable of coping with the limited space on stock ROMs), but this might be fun trying out.

Does anyone know if this will work on an Altell Desire? If so what possible issues could I run into? Thinking of doing this to help my older sister out on her Altell desire that still has Eclair on it because Altell won't update it.
