Hello, I have a question, well two actually. First one, I had the 2.2 leaked update on my droid x, but I went in to Verizon the other day and the lady said she updated me to the latest version of the firmware, is this is? My system version says 2.3.9.MB810.
My second question is how come I downloaded the gingerbread keyboard (2.2 one), installed it, and now it's really small on my phone, as in takes up like 1/6 of the screen and the letters are really small, it works fine on my friends incredible. Anyways all help is welcome!! Thanks :)

System is 2.3.340 as of the last update at 2.2.1. As for the keyboard it depends on what one you installed. Dl the keyboard in rom manager under apex. That should work for you. The first issues of it had a small problem.

I would also recommend taking a look at Swiftkey or Better Keyboard in the Android Market as alternatives.

It sounds like you have a portrait keyboard on a landscape screen. Have you tried pulling the battery (battery out for at least one full minute, put back, turn on). Often this will allow the X to self-diagnose and fix problems.

They are nice but I don't think they are worth the money.
You say this now, try the trial, you will be amazed at how worth the money swiftkey is once you have been using it for a while. With how much I type on my Droid X a good keyboard is definitely worth the money.

I have tried it and really liked it but the only reason I used it was because the HTC keyboard wasn't supported after an update. And while swiftkey is very nice, I'm not going to pay money for it when I can get basically the same thing for free.

I use smart keyboard. So far it has been a great keyboard. I like to be able to use the compact QWERTY function. And it has auto text which I'm used to with BlackBerry smartphones.

No problem, I think everyone should try it before they go and spend money on one from the market.

Lol I prefer the gingerbreadk eyboard because from using it on my friend's phone it's really accurate :o

Have any of you tried swype (for more than a few minutes)? I hated it the first time, then tried it again and forced myself to use for a full day. Now I love it. I couldn't come close to typing this fast on anything, and I've got swift, smart, ultra and best installed on my phone.

My kb was squashed after updating to Apex 1.3.1
My audio was messed up too. After some searching I found that I was not running the latest kernel, boot loader, and baseband.

Latest should be:

Kernel:
2.6.32.9-g55626e1

Bootloader:
3.04 (3.03 is also ok)

Baseband:
BP_C_01.09.07P

I'm not 100% sure if this is why the kb is messed up but it did fix my audio and the kb at the same time.
