Gingerbread keyboard???

:-[I cannot seem to find the gingerbread keyboard?? :-[ I know it is supposed to be under "language and keyboard" and then you should be able to choose it? Also, when doing a long press in a text input location (email, text, etc) it should be an option? But it is not in either location after doing the gingerbread update. Everything else has been fine (did have the voicemail icon issue mentioned in other threads but that was easily fixed) since the update this morning, and while this is not a BIG deal, hey, it's the Evo!!

Unfortunately, there's no Gingerbread keyboard in this release for the EVO. I found the following app on the app market though, which adds a very, very nice "replica" Gingerbread keyboard to your EVO.

Not sure of the differences between the two.

I'm currently using the free one, looks / works excellent.

online, it refers to the gingerbread update as coming with a newer, better keyboard? Will there be an update to this for the Evo that has the keyboard in the future? Or is it just not supposed to get it? How did you find out that it was not part of the update? Sorry for the questions, appreciate the help!!

I'm not sure why it's not in the update. I'm curious too and was expecting it. It would be in Language & Keyboards or it'd be the default keyboard. It's possible it's coming in the future, but for now, the app I linked above is DEFINITELY something you want if you were expecting the Gingerbread keyboard.

Edit: I found out it wasn't included by reading things online and by looking for myself and seeing it wasn't there.

Same, it's like exactly like the stock 2.3 keyboard and works great. Glad I could help.
