Hey guys, so gizmodo have been using their Samsung galaxy s4 for a week now and they are saying it's a great phone, but the htc one is better. Mainly for reasons I have suggested in other posts, but also for a couple of other reasons.

Main points:
Camera is very good, but slow. In low light the htc is king, naturally.
The new features are all rubbish, and nobody will use them. I think we knew this?
Despite being clocked faster than the one, the phone has annoying lag and jerk. The one whips it for smoothness.
Sound is not great on speaker. Obviously the one will crush it here too.

They are the main points. They still say it's a great phone but the htc one is "a level above"

I Have never owned an HTC by the way, and currently use a galaxy s3.

Sounds like a real unbiased review! We need more of these! And I couldn't agree more that the one is an all around superior phone!

I'm not arguing about the review, as I haven't read it, but why are reviews always "fair" and "unbiased" when they happen to agree with our own opinions? :D

Looks like quite a few reviews are rolling in this morning, and thus far, all the ones I've read give the slight edge to the One. No doubt, these are two great phones.

Yup. Verge, Gizmodo, AC, and Anandtech all favor the One.

I hope Samsung sells less than expected (not likely but I can hope) and they start learning why people are getting tired of useless software gimmicks and plasticy phones with horrible call quality. It does look like HTC has taken a sizeable chunk of the early 2013 superphone market though. All of the local carrier stores in my area are sold out of them.

I usually am very excited when I first buy a phone, then it generally wears off, quickly. I've had my HTC One since the 19th and even I'm starting to think I'm a bit obsessed lol. My whole office knows that I own it and all of my coworkers (iPhone and Android users) have been impressed with my phone.
