global calling and sending texts

I am going on a cruise in a few weeks. I wanted to know if there is an app for this? my bolt is rooted running BAMF cubed. I don't want to pay $3.99 per min.

if you have wifi, you can use grooveip for wifi calling, no cost per minute, but app costs a few bux.

Texts you can use google voice, free over wifi.

There all kinds of apps to accomplish calls and texts. Whatsup is one for texts and Viber is good for both text and calls.
The main problem is to find out if your cruise ship offers wifi, and if it does, is there a "business room" and for how much $.

Cruise ship wifi is way overpriced and the speed sucks. You pay by the minute. It can easily take five minutes just to send one quick message.
