Gmail ALL maiboxes

I've got several email addresses. And Gmail defaults to one "yah-da-dah-da.gmail.com" _and_ I can add the other accounts (lucky me) but ... to display all the incoming messages I have to manually select "all inboxes"? Huh?!!
Isn't there a away to set "all inboxes" as the default?

If you use multiple Gmail accounts as I do and want see them all in one shot you have to select all inboxes, it won't stick to that setting though.

Lots of other email apps that let you do this.

Oddly when I had an iPhone for a short while, the gmail app will stay on ALL INBOXES option if you select it.
I'm not sure why this doesn't work on Android. Just a small additional step to do but it does irk me a bit.

That's exactly what I see.. Android will default back to main while my iPhone stays on all...

Exactly. This problem, and a few others, is why i ditched the gmail app in favor of the stock email app on my N9.
