Gmail and Samsung gear S3

[Android Central Question]

I have a Samsung gear S3 and a Pixel I'm not getting Gmail notifications on the gear. Is there a way to fix this. I do get txt notifications using Textra and email notification from Outlook.com and my work exchange email. I have reset the gear to factory defaults and removed the gear app recommended by Samsung to no avail

Try going to the gear app.. Click the notifications tab..u should be good from there

Nope. Gmail notifications have never worked for me on my S3 with either the S8+ or the current Note 8.

Anyone getting Gmail notifications on their S3?

I use GMail and Yahoo receive all my notifications

I use the Samsung mail app on my Note 8 and get all my notifications fine on my GS3.

I was getting them until I did a reset on my Gear. Now no Email notifications come through. Everything is on as far as I can tell.

I got everything with the old OS. Since the update it's spotty for Gmail and phone and I'm having connection issues - Remotely Connected only works when I hold my mouth right and the wind is out of the West.

Gotta be a setup issue. Something is switched on/off that shouldn't be but nobody, including Samsung, apparently knows how to set it up. Brilliant.

Figured it out. I have 2 gmail accounts but it only forwards one. So I forwarded one to the other and that comes through.

Not to get too far off topic. But I have Pixel XL and Gear S3 and when I get a notification of an email it doesnt show the senders response it only shows the original email content. Anyone else have this happen? Like its showing the first subject in the thread of the email not the latest if that makes sense

Just a stab in the dark, but do you have Gmail in Conversation Mode?
