gmail app not sending pics

im trying to send some pics to my brother and my email just sits in my outbox sending and draining my battery. anything i can do to help the situation?

I'm having similar issues with all emails. From what I've read, the "solution" is to go to Settings --> Application Manager --> Gmail app and delete cache and data. I think you'll lose the email that's "sending", but if you draft it again, it should go out fine.

In 4.1.2 and latest gmail app, from gallery, I attached some pics and had same issue.
Fix was to go to gmail, click on inbox in top-left, then go to outbox, hit refresh. It immediately sent.
