EDIT: solution found - http://www.google.com/support/forum/p/Google Mobile/thread?tid=0cb1b3b402be729c&hl=en
I was on the verge of a factory reset until a search finally turned up the above link. I added the Power Control widget and clicked to enable the 4th icon (sync). This apparently controls a data sync option that is not found via any other menu.
-----
Gmail on my phone does not sync unless I go into the app and manually refresh. This has been going on since I got the phone on Tuesday. I have a single google account set up on my phone. I have background data enabled.
I tried to follow these instructions: https://motorola-enterprise.custhel...related/1/~/photon-4g--google-synchronization
But I don't have the checkboxes available. On each line, it just says "Touch to sync now". There is no checkbox at the right side. It seems like I have a different version of the software that what is shown on the webpage.
Has anyone else experienced this?
