Gmail Hacks?

I'm way new here and don't know much about the Gmail app on the Android, but the census is in our department that there's no way of deleting mail you don't want via "select all" like in windows. As of now we have to manually select/check off each one then select delete at the bottom. Anyway of being able to SELECT ALL to conveniently delete them in one swoop?

I think you can only do it from the gmail web page, not from the phone app.
