Gmail Inbox sometimes list wrong number of emails

Anyone know how to fix this? In Gmail app under 'accounts' it wiill sometimes list 1-2 emails in Inbox even though theyre arent any. I hit refresh and it doesnt clear.

Anyone else see this? Fix?

I was seeing this and changed the number of days that are synced. Suddenly the unread email appeared in my inbox.

thanks - no unread emails appeared but that fixed the number issue!

what are you guys setting this to? are you leaving sync days to the default of 4? i was thinking of increasing it to 7 but i don't want to hurt battery life.

Because I manage my inbox on an ongoing basis using the archive feature, I only have emails I need to act upon or further review in there...therefore I sync ALL on my inbox, but only 4 days on others.
