Gmail issues and questions

I'm really getting confused about Google Gmail.....
It came pre-installed on my phone. I set it up to push my Earthlink email addy, which works fine.
But I've searched several forum posts for ways ways to unmark spam, choose themes, customize, etc. and none of the responses seem applicable to this Gmail app. It's like they're talking about something entirely different! Also, if I go to the Market to download Gmail, it says that it's not compatible with my device! And what is the difference between the Gmail app that came with my phone and the Gmail website (which doesn't seem to recognize my pushed Earthlink addy)? What am I missing here?

Glad that worked for you. I personally don't like any of the 3rd party email apps.

I forward my pop3 roadrunner emails to gmail, then have roadrunner immediately delete them from the server.

I also have gmail setup to send my emails as roadrunner. For me it's much better to maintain.
