Since today morning, I am facing issues with my gmail. I never had to refresh it to get a new email but not sure what's up with it now and I need to manually refresh the gmail app to get my email. It never happened before. I used to get a notification when I used to get a new email, but not sure why it's not happening anymore. Can someone please help me here? I didn't changed any settings or anything, so not sure what's wrong!

power the phone off and back on, should do the trick, probably want to reset your phone at least once a day, or every time you use some form of media. Its been happening to me ever since the froyo update. Others will say there's nothing wrong, but to me it seems pretty common. I just rebooted my phone about 10 minutes ago, and received 5 emails from the past 2 days... i must not have rebooted yesterday...
also try using the stock email app on the phone. it pushes gmail and has lables functions. my gmail has been fracked up since i got my droid and i've done everything including getting a new device. i just use the stock email app now and its been fine.
I did that but it didn't solved the problem. Tried rebooting, clearing cache, etc.
Still can't solve the problem for some reason. Don't know what's wrong.

I like it, too. But it doesn't combine the similar messages like gmail and gmail app does, so your inbox is full of redundant messages. Do you know how to take care of that? Thanks.

I've been suffering from this no-syncing-from-gmail issue for two days now, too -- it's becoming epidemic for Droid X users, apparently. I have tried EVERY fix and it just can't be fixed. I, too, have now begun the stock email client, though I'm far from a fan. Surely a patch or fix will be forthcoming, as this is clearly not just an individual issue. Anyone with any news, tips or suggestions? It's driving me bonkers (and I had eliminated a 15-year Yahoo mail account, painstakingly changing my email address to google everywhere just so I would have the gmail usability with the X. So much for that God-awful effort).
Yeah I started having the problem last night, didn't realize it until this morning that no gmail emails were coming in. I've tried everything I've found online, clearing, data and cache, 10 reboots, nothing..... someone has to know something....help!!!!!
I had th exact same issue with gmail on my DX, even tried rebooting, clearing cache, force closing and restarting. What I ended up doing was loading the power control widget and making sure the sync control was turned on. Sure enough it wasn't and when I turned it on, gmail started working perfectly.

I don't think this is limited to the Droid X. I have read of multiple reports of Droid 1 users (myself included) having similar gmail sync issues over the last day or soon . I think (speculating) that this is not a phone issue, but an internal Gmail issue on the server side of things. I read a Google support forum today where an employee acknowledged the issue and is "looking into it". I would post a link, but I'm on said Droid as we speak.

I've verified all data sync & all other settings are on. I've uninstalled recent updates. I've spent all day making sure EVERYTHING is set correctly and I'm confident it is. Still, no syncing.

Yeah, this is definitely a widespread problem. I have been having issues since last night. Also, just google "gmail not syncing android" for the past 24 hours and you'll see how many accurate hits there are. Google said they are looking into this current issue.
I have an EVO and have been experiencing the same issues since yesterday morning, tried rebooting and other suggestions and still no syncing.
Last time this happened to me all I had to do was clear data/cache for the gmail app, uninstall it. Reboot. Reinstall gmail, then go to the account settings and turn off then on the mail sync. That's all it took for me.

I was having this same problem as well. All I did was go into settings...accounts. and my gmail accounts weren't synced. For what reason I don't know,but it fixed my problem. Emails flooded in right away. Im gonna check the sync later to make sure it isn't unsyncing itself.
