My pixel 2 xl never seems to push the gmail emails.

I always have to go into gmail and pull down to sync to get my emails to show up.

I have turned on and off the sync gmail several times but no luck..

any ideas?

Thanks in advance

Mine was doing the same thing. Couldn't deal with it anymore due to missing work emails. Switched back to BlackBerry hub and all is good in my email world again.

I remember this happening before awhile back. Where Gmail would not refresh until you with went into the app, or manually did it yourself. it was fixed, but it looks like this bug has popped up again

I've had the same ****ty experience and my work around was to get Blue Mail, AND Outlook. Both receive instant notifications. I use both now as a double "fail safe". Just wish gmail would work with its parent UI.

I ended up doing a factory reset and that seems to have corrected the gmail sync issue that I had so far.

Did any of you happen to try clearing Google framework services in order to force an ota update?

Yep I did..
That's what caused your issue. That's something not recommended.

Morrill states, essentially, that clearing the framework data is going to break stuff. Specifically, any apps relying on GCM functionality (Google Cloud Messenger) for things like push updates may freak out, stop sending notifications, or engage in other odd / less than useful behavior.

The problem fixed itself by clearing out the cache and app data, and just signing back in. works fine now

Mine stopped syncing for both my work and personal account. I did clear the data from the Google Framework trying to push the update and then sideloaded the November update so wasn't sure if maybe the November updated broke it. I tried clearing the data and cache from gmail and that didn't work. I also deleted and re-added both my gmail accounts and that didn't work. I thought about doing a Factory Data Reset but downloaded Blue Mail and that's been working so I'll stick with that.

There's no way that clearing the framework breaks it permanently. It has to be able to rebuild itself
