My new Nexus 7 gmail page does not show an account photo or email address in the top right corner, which is where the logout option is located. So I can't logout of gmail.
It works OK on my PC

Don't know about you, but I am always logged in with the gmail app on my S3. There is NO logout function as it is not needed. Just turn of syncing if you need to conserve battery.

If you've set up your gmail account as an account on the tablet, and you're using the gmail app, there is no logout - it's made to be logged in all the time. If you haven't set up the account in "accounts", and you're logged in through Chrome, I would think there is a logout, but haven't tried it.

So, how did you log in to begin with?
