Gmail no longer syncing

Hey Everyone -

I've been having a gmail sync issue. I've searched and tried all the solutions I've found... they're all temporary fixes. Within about 48 hours, my gmail stops synching again. I restart and/or clear data and it starts right back up, but only temporarily. I used to run ATK but have quit because I thought that might be the problem.

It's been ever since Froyo, actually.

For such a great phone (I switched from BB in July) with the tremendous functionality it has, this is a real PITA.

Any ideas?

I've notice delays in receiving my email since froyo. Having to get my device replaced due to a seperate issue though.

I haven't really seen full stops to the sync though just delays... new device comes tomorrow I'll let you know if I notice any difference.

Login to gmail in your browser and read a few mails and whatnot, this seems to repair sync issues for me on the droid.

i have been experiencing this as well. but somewhat diff i guess. i can receive email without a problem but i can't send it for anything. all it says is "sending' and nothing happens. it could be the rom im using but when i came across this thread it made me question if it wasn't the rom. idk what to think.

if your rooted just wipe data and cache on a clean ROM install. that s=ould fix ya up.

omg, same here. its so frustrating. i've tried almost everything that ppl suggested. i've been trying to fix this for the past 2 days. Some of the suggestions will just temporarily fix it. then i tried sending an email to myself from my work acct to test it and i dont get the email right away. i have to manually refresh it and i will get it...sometimes. and it's killing my battery. i tried clearing data and cache (from going into manage application). i checked my settings and i have it as automatic sync and the background data is checked as well.

oh and i dont have froyo.

I've been having similar problems since yesterday. When I delete emails from my device they don't delete from the server even though the phone says "deleted 1 conversation". As soon as get a new email it shows up again. I've been having to use the browser to delete emails.

I had the problem for a few days before. But after a reset to default settings, everything returned to normal.

i have droid 2 global and am now experiencing the same issues.the only way to receive an email is if i refresh manually. gmail is set to sync every 15 minutes yet i dont get new emails unless i do a manual refresh.
