Gmail not pushing

So when i first got the phone, everything was good with gmail. then probably 2 days ago my Gmail stopped pushing to my device, i have to manually refresh if i want my updated inbox (which by all means i can live with, would just be nice to have it auto pushed). And yes I am using the gmail app and not the HTC email app. I have my phone in Airplane mode alot due to being in the navy and on a ship where i get no signal inside, would that have something to do with it? like would the phone try to recieve emails and it fail enough where it just says whatever he can do it himself. lol thanks in advance for any input

Just so you are not alone here. I have been experiencing that here and there lately as well but not all the time. I am using the Gmail app and I just noticed by chance that my Google Voice is doing the same thing. STRANGE. I can live with this because it's leaps and bounds better that what I dealt with on my BlackBerry Storm! If I come across anything, I'll post it here.

When I had issues with my gmail app, I cleared the cache of it, and it worked out like a champ.

To do this go to applications then manage applications, press menu then filter, show all, then scroll to gmail and gmail storage, click on each of these, and clear the cache. (you will need to reset your signature if you have one)

check and see if the email system pushes after this.
