I have been having an infuriating problem with Gmail notifications that existed on my previous Galaxy S7 and is now appearing on my new Galaxy Note 8.
Essentially, I have many different Gmail labels that I use, and so when I get notifications for different incoming emails they are grouped by those labels. So at times I will have like 10 unread email notifications grouped into perhaps 3 or 4 different label categories. If I swipe left on one that is unimportant to get rid of it, the rest of the unread notifications then sort of re-order themselves seemingly at random like cards being shuffled — sometimes multiple seconds. And then sometimes the one I swiped away just returns for no reason like it won't obey my swipe-away request.
I have no idea what the issue is and it's hard to Google about for support given the strange, hard-to-explain nature of the problem. But I haven't seen any mention of this anywhere. I thought perhaps it was a malware-related problem on my S7 (it had been happening for months) but my brand new Note 8 does the same thing.
Has anyone else seen this? Is this an Android/Galaxy issue or something strange related to Gmail labels. It is maddening and makes me want to throw my phone out a window every time. Please help.
