Gmail reminder notifications not working

My notifications for the reminders in my Google calender app are not working. I've been setting them manually and with ok Google, but neither works. They show up on my calendar but the alarms for them aren't going off anymore, so they're pretty pointless now. It started happening 2 days ago. Any ideas how to fix this?

You could try to uncheck the Events and Reminders for the Gmail account(s) that you use for Google Calendar, close the app, reopen app, and then reselect the Events and Reminders. Maybe that will help get the alerts for Events and Reminders working again.

I haven't tried the above as alerts for my Events and Reminders are working. Just a thought on what may help.

Short of a Calendar app cache clear; or an app uninstall, phone reboot, app reinstall cycle - I'm out of ideas. Hopefully someone else will have some suggestions that might work.

This is a known problem. Don't waste your time resetting your phone.

Try Option 2 First (worked for me). Option 1 didn't apply (no such service).
