Gmail sound

How to change incoming sound?

I know this is a simple fix but i tried and still have the problem.
The problem is that every time i receive an email the phone sound is heard.

Settings>apps>GMAIL>Settings>GMail Account>manage notifications> sound>

Long list but you will eventually get there. Change the sound.
