Does anyone know if the battery from the Galaxy Nexus fits the Galaxy S3?

Any particular reason why you'd want that? The GSM GNex battery is smaller than the S3's, and I'm sure there are plenty of outfits selling the S3 battery.

I have the Verizon GNex and the 2100 mha battery. I want to switch to the G3 and wanted to have a spare battery.

The Galaxy SIII's battery looks to be shaped very similarly to the GSM GNex model. The CDMA GNex has a more "square" battery, which is a different shape.

So no, I don't think it'll work.

Just an added info for the gsm version. I was thinking of this but he other way around. So I got the s3, took off the battery and compared side by side. It would look similar and seems that the only difference would be when the seller battery is inserted, the lettering is inverted. But closer inspection shows the s3 battery to be shorter and wider than the gnex battery. It would not fit. Hope it helps as an added info
