Go SMS Pro Double MMS Notification

I have searched all over for an answer to this and I have yet to find it. I have tried the default messaging app, Handcent SMS, Chomp SMS, and Go SMS Pro. I like Go SMS Pro the best except one factor. Here is my situation: The only two messaging apps I have installed are the default and Go SMS Pro. In the default app I have all notifications off and auto download MMS on. The default app is not notifying me at all, that is not a problem. It is an option I am looking for in Go SMS Pro. So every time I get a new MMS message in Go SMS Pro I get a notification for when it is received, and then another notification about 3 seconds later after it is downloaded. When a group message is incoming, which is also in the MMS format, I get a notification when it is received(looks like it is a picture from a single person), then another notification when it is downloaded and placed in the correct group conversation(thread). I noticed Handcent SMS had an option that was called something like "Notify only after downloaded" so it only notifies you after the MMS was downloaded and placed in the correct thread. Is there anyway to do this with Go SMS Pro? Any advice would be helpful.

Thanks

I use GoSms too, but I have never had this issue. My attachments don't auto download. I have a 'download' button in the MMS message that I touch and then the downloaded picture appears. I have NOT updated GoSms with the latest update because of the changes to the app that I don't want. Maybe that is the difference between our experience with GoSms.

I know exactly what you're talking about. I have the same problem(?). It's especially bad if you're in a big group message and everyone is responding quickly. I hope someone knows a fix for this.

So it notifies you when you receive the mms but you have to open it? I wonder if there is anything I can do in the settings to make my version do that. Anything to get rid of double notifications...

I'm having the same issue, very annoying. I've been unable to find a fix so far either. I did notice that if I have individual notification icons set up for each contact that I will get one of each of the standard and the custom notifications when alerted. Hopefully an update will come out with the scenario you mentioned above with Handcent and only provide one notification once downloaded.

The problem is not with handcent, it is just with go sms pro. Handcent has a setting called "notify after download only" for mms messages and it only notifies you once, but handcent has other flaws which is why I don't use that one. I just wish go sms pro had this option.
