Go with Dinc2 or TB or sit tight?

I am currently 1 year into a 2 year plan and VZW sent me a text yesterday "You can upgrade early if you re-up for 2 years". So that means I can extend my current contract for a year more AND get to upgrade from my Dinc to one of their current phones.

I've decided the HTC & Sense is my DROID experience of choice, no Blur or TouchWiz for me thanks. I like both the Dinc2 and the TB but don't LOVE either. I am sure I could sell my current Dinc for a good price to make the upgrade almost free. I live in the sticks so 4G is probably 2013 or 2014 for me but would be grandfathered into the 4G rate plans (I hope).

So the question is, do I got from a Dinc to a Dinc2 or Dinc to a TB or wait until next year and get whatever Sense 3.0/dual-core/4G phone is sure to be current at that point?

Thoughts?

the dinc2 is great - really love this phone. i could have easily got the thunderbolt but the 4g is so iffy everywhere it's not worth it to me. plus the TB is a battery hog.

since you have a Dinc, i'd stay stick with it and wait for sense 3.0(amazing), dualcore and even a better battery life by that point. the Dinc is a good phone - i stay stick with it! :)

Stay with your current device. I have the same one and love it. Has more internal storage. I think it is a better built device but this is my opinion. I find no faults with the original incredible

On paper it's the Tbolt no question unless you don't like something that size. In practice it requires a lot of active battery management and crippling of features to get any kind of reasonable battery life. That includes turning off 4G most of the time. Smartphones aren't known for great battery life, but this was egregious. Though the OTA description doesn't talk about battery life, a Vz insider said that it would help with the handoff between towers and that that would help somehow. Personally my tests showed better voice quality on the Dinc2 but plenty of people here report great call quality on the Tbolt.

Thanks all.

Right now I think the order is wait then TB then Dinc2. But if the TB battery issues can't be addressed I'll probably just wait. I'll be in San Fran next week so hopefully I'll bump into Phil N. and see what his thoughts are. Once I decide, I'll be sure to post the outcome.

i would say dinc2 as if 4g is not in your are it will likely take a while to cover most places so the dinc2 will be a better choice and by the time 4g is out for you you will likely upgrade again.

If your content with your dinc wait I love the build quality of the dinc2 it feels great in hand and the soft touch coating feels great to me . But of the two it depends on what you like I personally like the dinc2 more just due to its size and weight but that's me
