Hey everyone. Just wanted to say that I picked up a Nexus 6 a few weeks ago on Amazon. Rooted an android phone for the first time last week (had the S4, Note 3, and Note 4) . And I just ordered Project Fi that ships in a week!

So far this phone has been nothing short of amazing. Loving the size and quickness. Can't wait until I get the full Google experience once my SIM gets in!

Good choice. It's still one of the best phones you can get, and will be for a while. Putting on a custom rom/kernel will make it basically unbeatable speed-wise.

The only thing I wish this phone had is the multi window ability with a phone this size. Like the Note series has

What does this mean? I thought stock Android was the reason to have a Nexus 6 and that it was fast because it's pure Android without carrier or manufacturer skins and extra apps.

You thought right.

What does this mean?

It means he also un-encrypted the phone. Factory-installed forced encryption is the reason the Nexus 6 takes so long to boot up. If you root the phone and remove the encryption, viola--it can do things more quickly.

I never said a stock Nexus 6 wasn't fast. But I like custom roms and the little extras that they offer. But removing encryption and running a different kernel can add even more speed.

Everyone who owns a Nexus should understand the history of the Nexus line. It was originally made for developers so they could....well.....develop, in a clean environment without carrier or manufacturer interference. People who wanted to customize (root and ROM) soon discovered the Nexus and it became the domain of "geeks" ( such as myself). The Nexus has become mainstream and people have forgotten the true intent of a Nexus!
