I am looking to trade in my Pixel 2 towards the Pixel 4a 5G. Google is giving a $235.00 trade in value towards it right now. My provider is Verizon and I am not sure if I purchased the Pixel 2 through them or from Google directly. First is my phone unlocked? It needs to be to trade it in. Second can I just take out the sim card from the Pixel 2 and put it into the new phone to get service?
Thanks for any help,
Albey

I just posted here about sale in Google store.. You will be able to use the unlocked Google phone no problem on Verizon.. Swap sim and go... You can even request a 5G sim if you on one of those plans and Verizon will send to you as well.. But you can use one in phone now...

Confirmed same sim...

The only Pixels that are "locked" are the ... Verizon models, which you can still trade into Verizon, of course. (If you buy from Google the phone is totally unlocked.)

And yes, just swap the SIM.

@bkdodger2:
The Pixel 2 also has an eSIM. (I was using mine when I was with Google Fi.)

Thanks everybody, I have the phone and I am just waiting on the case to get here before I swap out the sim card. Also making sure everything work correctly since I am getting $230.00 back with a trade in on my Pixel 2.
