Me and my wife are going to London and Ireland and I'm looking for the cheapest way to stay intouch with home. I don't know if I'm going to have WiFi or not down there. My EVO should work down there correct? Just want to get some input from my fellow travlers.

It's my understanding that there are no CDMA carriers outside of North America so you would not be able to make or receive phone calls. If you have wifi though you might be able to use Skype or Google Voice.

Your EVO will only work on wifi, no 3g or LTE. Skype will work, but as for as cell network calls and text, you are out of luck.

I would buy an unlocked phone and get a sim card a day use that phone it would be a lot cheaper.

There are other CDMA networka outside of the US. I've been to Korea with mine and I could make calls

Guatemala is a no go (not really over seas but still in the spirit of international travel)
