Top of the morning, afternoon, evening or night, whichever it may be for you!
I typically go by Echartea; I'm from Salem, Oregon. I've lived in a few states throughout the US in the past 30, nearly 31 years of my life -- it's been quite the adventure. My smartphone days started in 2008 with the AT&T Tilt. However a brief excursion with my significant other's 1st gen iPhone pulled me into the Apple side of things. Enjoyed an iPhone 3g, then the 4...but when they pulled up the 5, I found myself questioning things. It didn't seem like much of an upgrade from my 4, but I was tired of my 4 and tired of being under what I like to call 'the yoke of iTunes'. When I found out I could run Winamp from Android, and saw that the Galaxy Note 2 was launching soon, I fell in love.
It strongly reminded me of my days in the early to mid 2000s with my Palm V, and hey, who doesn't want 80gb of storage? Well, I did. I'm an audiophile who adores having all of their music at the ready at a moment's notice, and 55gb worth of music doesn't fit on...a lot of devices (certainly not an iPhone, I'll tell you that!) So the microSD slot was a most pleasing boon. Got my preorder in and my phone arrived just last Friday. Of course, it's been kinda bumpy (I expected as much, as it's my first foray into the Android operating system), and I'm still trying to figure out why my texts won't send/receive from time to time, but otherwise, it's been an incredibly positive experience.
I've been perusing and lurking on this forum for the better part of a month, reading what people have to say about Android in general, and of course in speculations and chatter regarding the original Note, and the Note 2 before it released; decided I'd best throw myself full-on into the thick of it, and say hi. Well, I say 'the thick of it' but really, everything I've read here leads me to believe this is a pretty solid and mostly laid back community with a lot of awesome people floating about, so...yeah. Hi and hello, it's nice to meet you all!
