Good Development Device

Ok, so I want an Android device for development.

I can not currently afford another cell contract, so if I were to purchase an unsubsidized phone, it couldn't be astronomical in price (preferably sub $350).

I would also like a device with the Market and I don't mind OEM skins as long as they don't suck *cough*blur*cough*, totally fine with Sense though. Basically, an Android iPod touch.

Any recommendations?

To be honest, I'd be shelling out for a Nexus One development phone. It has the current version of Android 2.2. You want to be able to test apps on current software without resorting to cooked roms. It's $529, but it's a damn good development device.
