Nilay's a class act. It's important to point the anger in the right place: The carriers.

HTC does it right with RUUs, though they don't really make them available anymore, and shipped-roms is kind of in a strange place these days after PPC Geeks took over.

Yeah, you know you're right, even after reading it I have still been focused on moto...the carriers definitely have a lot of culpability here.

Good read indeed, I agree with the author. I would like to say I'm done with Motorola based on principle because I hate what they are doing with their locked down bootloaders, but dam it, they do make phones that are the best, PHONES.
