I spent 11 yrs with Sprint and all the bull crap...had my photon exactly one years today... when Sprint turned on there whatever 4g towers here in Georgia it drew power from the 1x towers, which is the old Nextel towers... yes Sprint has not upgraded these towers and Sprint said by the end if 2 quarter this years all towers would be upgraded... guess what nope not until end of 2013....I love my photon but since Thursday I've had hardly any coverage..soon enough is enough goodbye... oh if ya want a bad ass phone the Motorola ATRIX HD...unreal on att

I don't have a Sprint signal at home and have to use a 1x airave to have any signal at all. At work, I don't have a Sprint signal and have to roam on Verizon.

But I have a flat fee with no extra charges when I do use data. The Motorola Photon is an excellent phone. Connection is rock solid.

I've been with ATT and with Verizon. Sprint has its problems, but it beats both of the other carriers.

Hope it works out for you with whatever carrier you decide on.

I just switched my wife's phone from Sprint to Pageplus prepaid. It uses Verizon's network. Its only 3g but for $55 I get unlimited talk, text, and 2gbs of data. I'm stuck with sprint for another year, but if the data speeds don't significantly improve, I'm switching my line to Pageplus as well. So far, I'm very happy with their service.

I'm heavily considering the Atrix HD with Straight Talk. Data was so slow yesterday mobile webages wouldn't load when I needed it.

If Sprint doesn't renew my discounts, I'm gone.

You guys do understand that Sprint is in the process of two major upgrades to there data systems. Trying to roll LTE and making there 3g service faster. I to was having issues and actually talked to a field tech (i work in electric sub-stations where lots of radio towers are located) and he said that Sprint is playing catch-up to the other carriers and they can't afford to be subtle with there upgrades. They are taking down so many towers at once to make upgrades that slow downs on data are going to happen. Most work is trying to be done at night to minimize complaints.

No they don't understand and honestly Imo I think most of these people are exaggerating a lil bit its not like sprint doesn't know they need upgrades they are in the process it takes time and patience

^And its time that we are paying full price for. 300kbps or less (85kbps sometimes) in areas with no 4G is unacceptable.

Thats pretty stupid you should have insisted on an early upgrade and used the only network with unlimited lte.

Most people buy a phone because its the in thing at that time or that's the service their company has the biggest discount with or.....whatever reason. They never....almost never look at what cell provider has the best signal for their needs. They buy the new shiney phone and get home and realize......no service here!!! Then get mad at the cell company for selling them a 2yr contract phone. As a consumer you have to do your part and find what suits your needs then purchase. Not purchase then make a billion dollar company change their business needs to fit yours. What I did at one time.....years ago....was get a prepaid phone on each of the networks.....tested them (signal/data) in my 'real world' daily life. Then made my purchase. Sure i spent a couple hundred on prepaid phones but i found the carrier that works for me and was cheap. Soooo do your homework before you say its a carriers fault you have crappy service. Rant over!!

What part of ga gogators?

as far as I go, sprint works for me and my fiancee, I'm currently in MD working and she's in SE GA and gets decent signal and decent speeds...

Yeah, that's all fine and dandy, but c'mon. U think most people will really do that? Besides, its one thing when the carrier has bad service in ur location to begin with, but that's not what we're talking about here, so ur whole argument is irrelevant! We're talking about Sprint, who had decent data speeds before the icrap, then decided they wanted to charge us a bullsh!t "premium data fee " up front so they could fix the network 2 years later! THAT is what we're talking about here, so go have fun with ur 6 prepaid phones.

You just seem to want to rant about Sprints 'bad data service' when it was fine before. Im ok at this point to give Sprint a chance to update there service. Go ahead and be like the other rats and jump ship when they're (Sprint) is in an overhaul status. Remember you enjoyed how ever many years of descent service at a pretty good price in most cases. So take you phone and chunk it. Go to the other guys and see how they treat you. All im saying is chill, call Sprint and complain....not beeotch...about your data in your area, and give them a chance to make it right. In say 3-4 months you can do without their crap....move on......hell bmaybe buy 6the prepaid phones while your at it.

Like I said earlier, I'm stuck with Sprint for another year, which I'm ok with, unless I wanna pay the etf. If they haven't improved in my area by then, I'll definitely be moving on. And yes, we have every right to rant with consistent speeds below 300kbs. U knew this was a rant thread before u read it, so don't read it if u don't wanna hear it. Ur right about one thing though, going to the other big 3 is not necessarily the solution, especially for the money.
