Google Allo and Google Assistant together

Should I download Allo if I have Assistant already? What are the benefits if so? I won't be using it as my stock messaging app.

Currently useful if you want to type to assistant or if you know people using it .

I'm enjoying Assistant more on my simless Nexus 6 , especially Google Now just a swipe away
