Google App keeps crashing

Since the March update my Google App keeps stopping. I've done the usual restart, close app, force stop etc. Anyone else having problems?

Welcome to Android Central! Have you also tried clearing the app cache/data for the Google app in Settings>Apps​?

I did, but shutdown finally stabilized it and it's fine now. thx

I don't have the March update yet and this happened to me at different times. Google photos stopped loading pictures. Then the Gmail widget stopped working. Reboot fixed both.
