Google Apps redirect madness

Recently on my S7, when I use the Google App widget to search, as my results load, I'm redirected into a new browser window just as the results are returned. This seems pointless and just wastes time. Are others seeing this? Can I disable it?

Welcome to Android Central! What does the new browser window show -- ads? If so, then I would suspect that some kind of adware made its way onto your phone.

It's not ads... It's like Google inserts a google:// type link into the search bar and forces the redirect...

Ok, but what does the new browser window show? Are the Google search results showing up in the browser instead of the Google app?

So I discovered what is going on here, just in case anyone else runs into this.

We added Qustodio, a parental controls solution, to my phone to protect my kids. Apparently it hijacks Google searches and runs them through the browser, rather than the app, to enforce it's protection. Not idea, but it is what it is.
