Google+ Auto Awesome and 4.2

Hi Guys,

AC posted an article a while back about how Zoes can be made into a GIF animation via G+. I'm pretty sure this was done by uploading the series of shots that makes up the Zoe.

Now in 4.2, if by default the Zoe is saved as a video file, is it still possible to get this awesome gifs? I'd like to share my Zoe shots without using HTC Share if possible.
