Google calendar monthly view?

Why does the Google calendar show only dots when in month display when on the Google play image it has appts written out?

On what device? On my Moto X it has dots, on my Nexus 7 it has dots and words. The screen shots on the Play Store look like they're mostly from tablets. They utilize the space more with a larger screen.

Moto x. Wow, that's so weird. It makes the month view completely useless. How strange. I know it fits bc calengoo fits it just fine.

That looks lovely, I will check jorte out. I can't figure out the love for calengoo, you can't imagine how hideous the widgets are and the agenda view is a hot mess.

I have the same problem with my Nexus 4, month view shows dots... I just downloaded SolCalendar this morning and it looks pretty nice and the widgets are good also. Might want to give it a try.
