Google Calendar question

Google Calendar on my pc displays the actual event/holiday, so I can see whether the visual 'alert' is for an actual event that I've calendared, as opposed to the holidays that are programmed in by Google. On my DI, on the other hand, there is no such display - only a vertical black and green bar - with no distinction between events and holidays. Is there any way to change this?

Thanks.

There's various apps in the market.
-Calendar Pad comes to mind

Have been looking for something better too. Thanks for Calendar Pad name, but will continue to look for one that also gives you the current days events like the stock one... thanks tho

Thanks cm40. Very much appreciate the input, and tried Calendar Pad, but didn't like it. Maybe I'm just used to Google Calendar, but want to stick with it if possible. For the present, I've just changed the settings so that only my programmed events are displayed (i.e., no holidays)...

You can always create a shortcut to Google calendar also if you have agenda view set by default

Is there no setting to turn off notifications for that calendar? Looking online, it looks like I have the option to set notifications for my calendars and my friend's calendars, but stock calendars like holidays and sports schedules do not have notification options. I would have assumed that those calendars would not have notifications.

If the event was created without notifications I believe you'll need to copy the event to your calendar and add one.
